January 1: Hops and malt are both in short supply worldwide. The shortage is being caused by poor crops, high demand, and the increasing popularity of ethanol, which has prompted farmers to plant corn rather than hops or barley. The price increases could have significant effects, because Washington residents buy 10% of their beer from craft brewers. This state produces more craft beer than all but seven other states, 4.78 million gallons in 2006... April 6: The back patio is opened for the '07 season.
March 20: With several new friends singing and playing the guitar, it was the best Open Mic Night yet!
March 17: One of the great parties of the year, and it was a hit. With Guinness on tap for the first time, green beers and wine poured, a special on the green "Toad Pie", and of course, a full corned beef and cabbage dinner. Everyone was Irish for a day.
March 15: A joint Irish Ale contest is held with our friend Ted Farmer of Heads Up Brewing in Silverdale. Customers will vote for O'Hara's Irish Red, Guinness Stout, or Ted's own Heads Up Irish Stout as their favorite for the holiday.
March 14: The Rogue and Issaquah breweries came to Bremerton with great brews that went quickly. Thanks to Matt Thompson for a great night! (Visit rogue.com and join the Rogue Nation!)
February 21: New brews begin "auditioning" to earn a tap. Black Butte Porter and Full Sail Amber give way to Fish Tale's Mudshark Porter and Organic Amber for a trial period.
February 16: The bottled beer menu is updated, and several new ales and lagers are added.
February 14: Valentine's Day at the Toad House is for beer lovers, with Chimay bottles for two on special and prizes given out. Many thanks to the famous Doug Sisk.
January 23: The recycling effort at the Toad House increases. Along with the cardboard and glass, we can now recycle our plastic and cans.
January 19: We were taken over by pirates! Lacy Barakuda and the Black Diamonds raided; but then they enjoyed, entertained, and thanked!
January 15: The Toad House is now 1 and 1/2 years old!

December 15: And then we're really hit. We lose power for an entire Friday. But the storm doesn't do its worst to us. Many of our neighbors are out for days.

December 6: The track lighting that hasn't worked since week two is finally replaced.
December 5: A new tradition for us starts - our first gingerbread house. The little tudor cottage with a Shredded Wheat roof is a success.
December 4: The new Toad House Chili is introduced. An original triple-meat chili by Starre, slow-cooked here from scratch.
November 24: With Dave and Monica Boyd's help, the "Haunted Saloon" theme is chosen for next Halloween. Thanks you two.
November 23: Thanksgiving Day was warm and delicious with a grand buffet. From roasted turkey breast and rosemary gravy, to stuffed mushrooms and grilled asparagus. It just gets better every year.
November 21: Open Mic Night moves from weekly to monthly. Now it's Open Mic Night at the Toad every third Tuesday of the month.
November 12: Our menu gets an update, and some great new items are added.
November 6: The first BeerLand explorer to hit 200 is Keith "Bolton Bombers".
November 6: A used stepvan is purchased for the Toad House. Catering and fairs may be in our future.
November 2: Our chicken is upgraded to free-range, hormone-free by Draper Valley Farms in Mount Vernon.

July 7: After the holiday and other delays, the new baby arrives and is installed. Pizza is back! And better than before, with a higher capacity, much more reliable and consistent, and higher quality oven by Wood Stone - manufactured right here in Washington. The cast-ceramic floor and the monolithic cast dome create a "deep heat sink" within the chamber of the oven, cooking our pizzas in the ancient stone hearth tradition.
June 27: The right oven is located and tested in Tacoma.
June 26: We realize what fantastic customers we have, as they support us through this 'drought'.
June 25: The list of available kegs to order is added to our Website.
June 20: The dynamic duo of Starre and Laura create an interim menu, and Brooke brings in the temporary equipment.
June 20: The best laid plans... our strategy to replace our oven in the "near future" got a swift kick in the pants. The old oven has suddenly gone down, and the panicky search, negotiations, and scheduling for the new oven begins.

November 24: We're open for Thanksgiving, and a beautiful and expansive buffet is served. And we're rewarded with warm, warm thanks from our guests.
November: Mrs. Toad (Andee) says "Where am I - what day is this - and what's my name?" Mr. Toad (Marcus) joins the staff full-time. Mrs. Toad lives.
October 29: The All-Stars play at our Halloween Party. (see pictures of the party)

July 14: A private open-house is held for all of our friends, family, associates, and all the wonderful people that have helped us along the way.
